The Empire teaches us to be selfish and self-serving, to be ruthless and violent to get what we want. The Kingdom stands in stark contrast to the Empire though. The Kingdom belongs to the poor and they are called blessed (Luke 6:20)

CROWD – CONSUMERS (Relationship is distant). CONSUMERS are never satisfied - are selfish – expect change CREW – PARTAKERS (Personal relationship). PARTAKERS are involved – Change – wants to be part of the solution

Have we made a decision to worship Our past / Our present, Our lack, Our sickness / Worship, Our barrenness / Our busyness, Our crappy job/marriage/friends - over God?

Pray as if everything depends on God, then work as if everything depends on you.

We had traded our traditions about the law for a new law and forgotten the lawgiver. We have traded FAMILIARITY for INTIMACY.
